Pilot Satisfaction Survey - October 2007

What could WestWind Management do to improve the operations of the airline?

Better communications between management, and more people involved with Team speak.

WestWind can opertaize she self more.

Like other open systems, we need to improve advertising to raise memberships.
On the other hand, some regular enthusiastic pilots are better
than a lot of gamers for only short periods of time.

Communication with HM's - It would have been nice to hear about the change from Execs before some of my pilots told me then I had to scramble to find out what was going on. Release major changes that take place (like cat rating changes, training plane) to the Hub Management before the general pilot population is informed so we can have a plan in place when the change is seen by them. THat is in the past though, no need to revisit old news.

IDK.

Nothing, they do what they know needs to be done. Glad to see pressure on the 'bad apples' to move on...

Not sure.

Again I'll ask for more training- I'm interested in VATSIM but I'm not sure I'm good enough a pilot to represent WW

I have no suggestions.

They are doind a fine job.

Not sure at this time

Nothing

I'd have to just say agree, since I've never submitted an idea. But the management seems to be doing a great job. The new website updates are fantastic. I find myself coming in much more often because of the flight dispatch. The only possible improvement to the airline could be a more sophisticated dispatch system. I know it's already got a lot of features and is really nice. I'm just saying to continue the great progress and continue to enhance that functionality, as dispatch and flight tracking and what not are extremely important to a virtual airline, in my opinion.

Just update the aircraft library a bit. better sounds, panels etc...

Stay a little more in touch with pilots...

NA

nothing really

Concentrate on realism more.

not sure I think it is a great VA

n/a

I'm sure most of management has other jobs, so I believe the job they are doing is very commendable..

Hmm, again hard to say as I go thru my hub manager

I have seen other "airlines" you have to sent in flight plans with load sheet fuel schedules.
WWA has a schedule for all hubs. Charter, Cargo and you make your own. just the way to set your own challence.

No complaints.

Airline management has come forward with great improvement towards making as real as it gets.
One (1) suggestion, upgrade to perhaps two (2) PIREPS per month.

Nothing, when my Hub Manager wasn't around, I was answered/responded to very quickly.

I feel that change for the sake of change does not help. We are an established airline and I believe most pilots are happy with things as they are and thats why they join, If they want it to be like AA or Qantas let them join those VA's
We are world wide, so we do not have to be like an airline operating under FAA rules and regulations.

Don't know

Increase the amount of Cargo Flights on random cargo flight assignments.

A little more communication to the Hub Managers.

i think the committee is doing a fine job

Create more Hubs, especially for South America.

Create an on line training VATSIM. The trainers could be the current WWA pilots that are VATSIM certified (protocal, process, lingo etc.... Just a thought

nothing

I would love it if WestWind would actually start acting like a real airline and drastically scale back their operations so that it looks like money actually exsists and the idea that a single airline cant do it all.

Nothing. I am happy as is!

Nothing comes to mind right now...oveall the airline is at the best I have seen it in the three years I have been a member

Get a bit of input from HMs and AHMs

not sure realy. i havent had much contact w/them. i think it might be benifical to have a monthly meeting on team speak. i understand that not everyone will be able to make it, but if just a few could show up, it would be nice. atleast management could then discuss arrising issues umongst themselves.

Use MSFS training school have all pilots take checkrides.

Undecided.

I have no clue what they do or do not do...so I can't help you there

even if it is not RW, fire (A)HM's NOT doing their job

I'm frankly too new to have an opinion that is of any value at this time.

Nothing so far that I can tell.

You need to listen to the ideas pilots have.

Provide more than just a singular path for initial pilots in the airline. Provide a propeller and jet path for CAT I and CAT II pilots. After Category two, the paths can merge and pilots train on airframe vice propulsion system.

Have a few more fly ins.

Have more FSX aircraft.

Get advertising so that they earned money as revenue and shared the wealth with us lowly pilots.

Nothing, they are doing a great job.

I think management could try harder to solicit and consider pilot input on major decisions. Although decisions should not be based soley on the pilots' opinions.

Don't assume it's the pilot's fault, something could really be wrong, and "Did you reinstall!?" IS NOT AN ANSWER!!!

can't think of anything

MORE FSX development

More realistic routes.

Adapt to current trends such as teamspeak and mandate meetings with hub managers to discuss general items of importance.

Bossy. I get that at work. I dont need it in my hobby. Why did they open the minihubs? NONSENSE. Too many Hubs already. Too many kids in WWA. A kid as a manager? That is crazy. Forums look like blog for kids. The Forum does not have any rules, I have stopped reading that garbage.

Just have more conversation and involvement with ALL pilots and other management and take into consideration new ideas

Too new to system to make that call.

Communication is the key. I see no problem with anything else.

It's all good!

Operations are great! Love the new PIREP system.

Don't know

nothing

Work to get more planes in the fleet for FS2004 and FSX

See above as to the suggestions that I have for the airline in general - Management input is required to address all of these.

find more aircraft don't know

Again, nothing too much. Keep up the good work!

Lighten up a little. This is just people having fun.

I think they are doing just fine. This airline has grown and prospered over the past few years, and this has been due to the leadership and hard work of the Executive Committee. Some of the hub managers may think they have a right to be in the loop on every action the Executive Committee is considering, but frankly, that should not be their function in this organization. The problem is, there are no written by-laws that say who should be making the decisions that affect this airline. The Executive Committee should create a set of by-laws that spell out exactly what role all managers, including hub managers, should have in the governing process of WestWind.

Police the activities of HM's more. Ensure that they are providing adequit service to their members. Managers should be involved with the company. Flying, encouraging and being leaders. And a timely reminder that this is in fact "just" a hobby. A hobby that people take seriously, but not to the extent that events lead to personal attacks, resignations in disgust etc. Perhaps this comes down to censorship of the forums to some extent to remove personal attacks. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, everyone should feel safe expressing an opion (however absurd or "out there") without fearing personal atacks. Debate the idea, not the personality. In my real world (non aviation) company I would be severely reprimanded for having a lack of respect for my fellow workers. I think this would be agood time to pull in the reigns and run a tight ship for a while and ease off after things have settled down a bit.

Perhaps explain concepts that only a few seem to know such as awards programs and plus ratings assigned to some pilot rankings etc.

don't know.

Have more direct contact with the pilots

No idea. Though maybe fleet could use more people in design and testing.

N/A

They could get more aircraft like Airbus A330, A340, 737, 757, 767, 777, 787.

keep the airline orderly

Provide a larger scenery data base for North America, including airport ops facilities. Coordinate air races or simulated air shows for fly-ins, and make sure that VATSIM is contacted regarding complaints, commendations or recommendations of our pilots. Also, it would be nice to have VATSIM insure that all airports that are normally manned are covered during our regular fly-in hours, to the extent that it might be possible.

N/A

Mangers are doing fine.

Be more interactive on team speak. Not all management. Some/

The airline runs smooth from my end.
