What do you dislike about WestWind Airlines?
I am at the Vancouver hub, and FS9 will only give me gates 55 or 96 so I always have a long taxi. I don't know the mechanics of FS well enough to know if that is changeable.
Have not found anything to dislike.
Pressure from other pilots to be on the forum or teamspeak.
None
There is nothing that I dislike about the airline.
It's a little disappointing some times to fly a familiar route but not see any WWA pilots. But that's really what makes this VA great - the fact that you can fly any time, either online or offline, that you like.
The website navigation is a bit confusing. Particularly regarding the PIREP and the Flight Dispatch area.
Nothing so far.
The lack of communication amongst everyone. We need to do a better job with having community and realizing that this is a hobby, not a job!
Nothing I can think of.
Need more FSX aircraft to include helicopters. Don't just submit a repaint, put the whole aircraft in for download.
Under age kids
Having trouble/issues with log in at times.
No true "dispatch" system
Need more aircraft and panels
Nothing
The fact that very lately, there have been some clashes between different members of Management. There's not a lot i dislike...
Not enough specific Hub scenery at other airports except Denver. More chkrides, some out of Denver Headquarters, no assigned and specific gates at any airport for Westwind flights.
Not a whole lot. I wasn't happy when you changed the method to do preips.
nothing really
not enough company routes
HAHA! To much Testosterone for our own good! Sometimes I think we get to hot headed and don't respond to reson
Nothing I can think of.
Nothing much, maybe the very long hours to reach higher ranks, if it's like this in actual airlines than leave it be.
nothing really, I think that improvements need to be made with regards to being able to successfully schedule connecting flight
I really do not have any dislikes.
There needs to be more FSX senery and Aircraft.
NEED MORE FLIGHTS WITH STOP OVER FOR REFUELING TO DESTINATIONS.
Nothing really.
Loggable hours limit (2.7 per day) this is only enough for a short regional flight - enough for CAT I-II, but when you have access to the bigger a/c (e.g. A380, B787,DC-10) your going to start flying TransAt flights (8 hours +)
nothing really
I'm not too happy about the recent changes made in the PIREP reporting procedure. Seems to me this falls into the, "if it works, don't fix it," category. Also, I prefer the traditional livery to the newer, "anniversary" livery.
No automated ACARS like functions. Manual PIREP entry. Hour based promotion scale vs. takeoff/landing cycle based.
In recent events, some of the non-management pilots voiced a concern AND plausible solutions to a management decision. In turn, some of the management lashed back in a very unprofessional way. Management makes decisions, but should never discount valid concerns or solutions brought up by general pilots.
would like better planes and better how to files on loading planes. Also help with FSX and Vista
Nothing...quite enjoyable
Nothing so far.
Nothing to report here.
Nothing, Really!
So far, not much. Would like to see more VATSIM flying.
Looking at the fleet, I wish I'd gotten FS2004. I'm hoping that with time the FSX fleet will expand, as it has recently with the new DASH 8.
nothing really
Nothing
Nothing. I wouldn't fly for any other VA. Period!!!!!
Undecided.
No dislikes at this point.
I'm helping to change that ;-)
Nothing
The fact that a few German SS soliders can meet in the darkness and formulate a game plan and try an impose their will upon the rest of us caring not who they harm in the process.
At times, management fails to consider the hubs/pilots when making decisions.
The forums aren't nearly as active as I would like.
updating the flight log
NOTHING.
10th anniversary colour scheme.
Having Senior Command Captain 1 2 3 4
Cannot see any point in this, either you are a Senior Command Captain or you are not.
Your hours tells your experience.
Really nothing at all.
no complains :)
no complaints here
nothing
Nothing about the airline. Mostly my inability to get motivated enough to do some online flight operations.
nothing at this time
No longer offers new paint for fs9
nothing. its great
nothing to dislike concerning the company
Haven't found anything yet!
Maybe just me but I have trouble with completing my flight via the flight dispatch system, my personal log shows that I've completed and reported the flight but I keep getting the "over 72 hour since you should have reported" message. I'll keep working on that.
I wish CAT I's could fly charter and cargo. the new aircraft rating system, (but will deal with it) Coming from an AHM, the lack of communication between Hub Management and the higher ups on opinions and new ideas
People get annoyed easily
100 hr/month Flight Time Limit
I would like to to see more acceptance of a wide variety of levels of participation in this community of ours. It really pisses me off that we have some pilots, and particularly some hub managers, who seem to believe they know the proper way our pilots should participate, and want to force everyone to conform to that standard or "be shown the door". It's a hobby for crying out loud! Let people enjoy it however they like, and don't give them a hard time if they don't want to be active posters on the forum or spend time on Teamspeak.
I would like to transfer from Miamia hub to Atlanta hub but I understand that KATL is full.
none that i can think of at this time
Kids. Kids and others curse in the Forum. WWA fights more than fly. Hub managers come and go fast. Is ww closing down? Too many hubs open. Too many kids.
I joined to fly the Constellation, but the hour requirements are now out of reach for me. Same for the DC-3. Sometime I like to take "personal trips" in my A35 Beech Bonanza private a/c. There is no way to log hours for that flight time.
The lack of a tightly bound community; we should have mass group flights. More people need to go onto TeamSpeak also.
Too many hubs.
Nothing...to new to system.
Can't think of any!
Recent reductions in routes.
So far, nothing.
Not enough WestWind terminals at major airports
MY HUB MANAGER NEVER REPLIS TO MY MESSAGES
The only things I really don't like are some of the arguing and bitching going round, and the aircraft liveries, they are nice but with the computer graphic design I come from, they really dont flow and the logos dont stick out haha.
Not been here long enough to answer this.
I personally find it very unrealistic and very unsatisfying to be able to fly any plane, to/from anywhere, at anytime. An airline of this size would be impossible in the real world and it really makes it less enjoyable.
Really no complaints.
Some people are a little too hung up on hours. Also, some of the texture files for FSX aircraft do not seem to work.
We need more doenuts in the clubhouse
The way the flights are schedualed.
Would like ACARS system
The scheduling (most seem to be at odd hours and in illogical sequences imho), and now the initial trainer change.
Its in my eyes simple very well presented...NO dislikes.
um...nothing. Ok, maybe airplanes that don't self install, only because I am computer illiterate, and have a hard time with installing zip files, certainly my own fault. I have had some problems with a couple planes, and generally just fly the ones I have, rather than add new ones all the time, my favorite, the CRJ-200
would like to see more props in the cat1 section!
Not much at this point. Really, not much at all.
Lack of aircraft for FSX.
Nothing really.
Some of the standards are not enforced carefully enough (pilot checkrides, flying approved routes/aircraft, etc)
Don't have enough aircraft with VC.
N/A
In don't like a very small thing, the fact we don't got Cessna 172 in the FSX fleet.
It sounds like there is a division between Upper and Mid management, and they need better communication. I have seen very few VP's on Team speak, and only a few in the forums. If not for our hub Managers, I wouldn't know what was happening.
There arnt many 'Events' going on.
I dislike the tests and stuff that you have to take to join the airline. My simulator wasn't working well when I wanted to join, so I had to wait like a month.
There is no Challenger 604 ;-)
Nothing.
Nothing
Communication here sucks. Half the HMs and AHMs don't pay attention to their pilots, which is one of the reasons I wanted to be an AHM.. to be one of the ones who did it right. Plus, it seems that the Executive Committee doesn't really include the hub managers in their decision-making processes.. they just decide what to do and go. I understand not asking the entire airline, but perhaps some of the more senior HMs.. maybe just the HMs and not the AHMs, should have some sort of say in EC decisions. After all, the HMs (and AHMs) work directly with the pilots everyday. The EC members don't -- you guys are busy with other things, and that's how it should be. But people whose fingers ARE directly on the pulse of the pilots should be included.
Nothing really
Mini-Hubs
Nothing
There is only one thing I dislike. This is the size of some of the aircraft downloads.
can't think of any right now
The pilot's report seems harder to find and is somewhat nebulous.
not much
Nothing. After this weekend I have realized that this is a hobby and not a JOB and how a few harsh words from some were enough to make a person stop enjoying this hobby. Now that I have refocused my outlook I will take a more laid back style to mgmt and be able to fly more relaxed while dedicating enough time to my Mgmt positions.
Nothing to complain
The hub web pages are outdated/antiquated. Would like to see newer looking websites for the hubs and routes.
The planes. They are not sophisticated enought, or have up to date panels
I'm having to get used to the new PIREP system, but I just used it for the first time today and it was less of a hassle than I originally thought
N/A
I don't always have am enough time to complete a flight in one sitting.
Not having enough free time to fly more. Not your fault though!! My biggest regret is relinquishing the assistant HM position I had for a brief while.
Some members forgot that this activity should be FUN!
some of the pilots in team speak are "snooty." 1 aircraft availible for cat I pilots.
nothing every thing is just fine
