Hub Managers
Duties: The Hub Manager is the person responsible for the "well being" of the Hub.
All correspondence, including questions or concerns, will be routed to, or through, the Hub Manager.
The Hub Manager will be an active member of the WestWind support forum. Through his/her leadership,
flying for WWAL should be interesting, challenging and fun.
Requirements: Organizational and good communication skills are essential to this position.
The time necessary to manage a Hub must be available. The applicant must currently be a dedicated pilot
with WestWind Airlines holding a rating of Category III or higher. Hub Managers must be at least 16 years of age. The age requirement may be waived at the discretion
of the Executive Committee.

Selection Criteria: The selection criteria for Hub Manager positions is based on the following:
- Hub Managers wanting a lateral move to another hub have first choice of open positions, based on longevity of service to WestWind.
- Assistant Hub Managers have first choice at their own hub for the Hub Manager position, if no existing Hub Manager is interested.
- Assistant Hub Managers, at large, have third choice, based on longevity of service to WestWind.
- Pilots, at large, have fourth choice, based on longevity of service to WestWind.
Assistant Hub Managers
Duties: The Assistant Hub Manager is to
be a "shepherd" for our Category I and II pilots.
He is responsible for sending a "Welcome" letter to
each new pilot that joins the Hub. He should set a goal of "graduating" a
Cat.I pilot in no more than five weeks and a Cat.II pilot
within 16 weeks of their enlistment.
Requirements: The applicant must currently be a
dedicated pilot with WestWind Airlines holding a rating of Category II or higher. Good communication skills
and a sense of responsibility are essential. Time requirement is one or two
hours a week. Must have the desire to advance
to a Hub Manager position. Assistant Hub Managers must be at least 13 years of age. The age requirement may be waived at the discretion
of the Executive Committee.

Manager
Director of Hub Operations
Qualifications: The Ideal candidate for this position will have at least a Cat IV rating and has served as a
Hub Manager or Assistant Hub Manager. Others will be considered at the discretion of the Vice
President of Hub Operations. Minimum age for this position is 18 years. The candidate should
email a resume to the V.P. of Hub Operations stating his/her qualifications, time in service
with WestWind and level of knowledge of MS Flight Simulator.
Duties:The Director of Hub Operations (DHO) will work closely with the V.P. of Hub operations to insure that
the WestWind hubs assigned to him/her are operating at peak efficiency. This will be accomplished by assisting the Hub Managers as needed.
- The DHO will regularly rotate through the hubs, assigning himself/herself to each hub for a duration of
not less than 30 days, except when serving as interim HM.
- The DHO will provide suggestions and encouragement to the HM and AHM.
- The DHO will serve as interim Hub Manager at the direction of the V.P. of Hub operations until a
permanent Hub Manager is hired.
- The DHO will be responsible for hiring Hub Managers for hubs assigned to him/her.
- The DHO will copy the V.P. of hub operations on all correspondence to the Hubs.
- The DHO will make recommendations for improvements to the V.P. of Hub operations.
- The DHO will regularly monitor the WestWind Forum and respond to forum questions whenever possible.
- The DHO will be familiar with WestWind S.O.P. Most importantly, the DHO will be dedicated to WestWind VA.
One of the Director positions will be assigned to oversee the Overseas Hub operations.
The other Director position will share the U.S. and Canada Hub operations with the V.P. of Hub Operations.
Test Pilots
Senior Test Pilot
- Reviews and recommends applications for the position of Test Pilot.
- With the Chief Pilot, develops and maintains Test Pilot training program.
- Develops test pilot checks for new aircraft and scenery testing.
- Receives projects by the Aircraft and Scenery Department and assigns Test Pilots to
performs Quality Control checks to ensure the projects meets WestWind's
expectations for excellence.
- Produces final test reports on products to the EVPAS.
- Recommends Aircraft & Scenery focus areas to the EVPAS.
- Retests projects after adjustment by the Aircraft and Scenery Department.
- Makes recommendation for release.
- Holds a minimum rating of Senior Captain or holds a real world CPL with instrument privileges.
- Has an advanced understanding of aircraft flight dynamics and how they relate to the simulator.
- Will hold rating of "Senior Test Pilot" during his or her term.
Test Pilot
- Will conduct test and quality control checks of new products being released by
the Aircraft and Scenery Department as assigned by the Senior Maintenance
Test Pilot. This may include, aircraft, manuals, scenery, sound files and
other add-on software designed for the simulator version and additional
software that the test pilot owns.
- Is willing to test new software and products and has an advanced understanding
of how to install additional products for the simulator version he or she
may own.
- Holds a minimum rating or Category V Pilot or holds a real world PPL with
instrument privileges.
- Has a basic understanding of aircraft flight dynamics and how they relate to the
simulator.
- Will hold the rating of "Test Pilot" during his or her term.
