Hello, dear pilots.

I'm assigned to Amsterdam AHM, so to celebrate this I'm starting my P001 Charter.

 For it, I've chosen Boeing 767-300 (Level-D), because I know her very well. I know that it would be more interesting if the charter was flown in a more exotic aircraft. So I promiss to do it again in a more interesting aircraft and with more legs after a while .

I will make screenshots of my landings at all airports and give you the information about my flights from vataware.com.

Have fun on the  P001 Pranas, I did!

That isn't the shortest amount of Legs that has ever been flown for the P001, I believe Mike Gibbs did it in just 2 legs!!

I'm also doing P001. I made it a little interesting and am only flying the Piper III and also visiting every single WestWind hub to check out the scenery. It is slow going and some really long flights just to go 600 miles. Eventually I will make it back to Cincinnati. Enjoy your trip.

B767 is hard to beat for cargo too.  Here is hoping that by mid 2009 Kim will tell us we have purchased 10 to 20 B777 for cargo to supplement or replace.

Updated. Changed the leg list a little, because flight TNCM - EHAM was a little too long - I do not have a lot of time.

So now - only one or maybe to short flights left till the end of the P001! Feels good to be back to Europe...

Congrats Pranas! That is a lot of work and I know the feeling of being finished with a long RTW trip. I did one in the Connie and I thought it would never end. It only flies about 250 kts iirc. It has been a while since I flew it. Really nice plane but I think it is for FS9 only. Again, congrats.

That is a sweet airplane Mike but I have lost both engines on approach too many times for some reason.  An overspeed will shut down the engines and very frustrating.  What is the procedure on the approach?

Most likely the reason for the engines shutting down is that you have not properly controlled the mixture on the descent. At altitude the mixture setting is really lean. As you come down, there will not be enough oxygen to keep them running unless you enrichen the mixture on the way down. Remember that normally aspirated engines are quite a bit more complicated than jets.

[edit] Below 3000 ft the mixture should be full in. 

Yes, it has to be managed carefully but if you need a refresher on those issues, try the flight lessons in MSFS in the Barron. They are quite good. IIRC, it is under the commercial rating.

Scott, I should have noticed your CFI and commercial rating in your signature and probably should have known just from talking to you in the forums. I would have had a different response. It would probably have been I don't know. I don't think I ever had the engines quit as you describe. I did have quite a few as I described though.

Are the cowl flaps open? If the engines are overheating, maybe that is modelled. I am just grasping at straws now.

BTW, I think maybe I told you this before but I got my PPL at Memphis Intl when Lazy 8 was there. That was a long time ago and Memphis had a complete set of runways on the north side of the field. RWY's 13-31 and 04-22.

Mike, I never knew you flew Lazy 8 airplanes.  I was a CFI at Big Brother Aircraft in Nashville while in school.  Shortly after graduation I was transferred to Memphis. I gave some check rides at Lazy 8 as a part time CFI.

Do you have your log from those days?  I have a bunch of time in 4047Q also in 500H.

Do you remember the owner?  A German fellow named Ted who was killed some time later in an airshow.  I have forgotten his last name.

There was a tall black man that was an ex B52 pilot that also was a teacher there at Lazy 8.  Very nice guy but I do not remember his name either..  He was flying for Fed Ex at that time.  He gave me the check ride to fly as a CFI at Lazy 8.

I remember his exact words upon completion of the CFI check,  "You fly a great ship but you need to keep your head on a swivel"
