Hi Guys,
I know this update is a bit late but I was in London yesterday. Sorry!
On Monday I flew a total of 3 legs of my P001 route. My first flight was from Heathrow to Reykjavik. The flight was a bit boring, there was nothing but sea for miles. Kinda like the Trans-Oceanic flights! The route took me out over the North Sea and then back in over the Shetland islands in Northern Scotland. The flight was all good and there was no problems.
The second leg was from Reykjavik to Nuuk. This leg of the trip was much better! I flew a direct GPS because there was no airways in that area. The approach into Nuuk was spectaculor. It brought me in over the Fjords and glaciated valleys. The actual landing of the aircraft was more difficult. There were mountains to the East of the airport accompanied by a hill just in front of the only runway (Runway 05). I don't reccomend this flight for larger aircraft or even the 737, due to the rumways size. But if you are in a TP or RJ, I highly recommend it and its a great way to build up hours if your based in London. I would also reccomend it for VFR flights as the fjords and valleys are just spectaculor.
The third leg was from Nuuk to St. Johns. Apart from the departure, not much happened. The departure was good but we just made the end of the runway! The departure brought us back in over the Fjords to say farewell to Greenland!
Today, I flew the St. Johns to New York and the New Yrok to Kansas City routes, both of these were uneventful and there was nothing spectaculor about them. (As with a lot of other American Flights, no offence!)
I'll update you again tommorow.
