    Irregularity Report

DC-10-30ER, N103WW was operating as WestWind flight 199A from CYYZ enroute to CYVR.  At approximately 1330z the number one (left) engine (a GE CF-6-50C) suffered a complete loss of oil pressure leading to a precautionary shutdown of the engine.  At the time the aircarft was over central North Dakota at FL360.  The decision was made to divert to Denver and the aircraft landed without further incident at 1427z.  Passengers are being reaccomodated on other flights, and the aircraft is being towed to the Denver maintenance facility for inspection.  GE has dispatched a team to assist in the investigation.

Kim, at least your problem wasn't a full blown crash (like I've just had) http://flywestwind.com/communityserver/forums/16438/ShowThread.aspx I didn't mean to wreck one of the planes that you painted. lol.

    Re: Irregularity Report

Yea I just read that, tough luck man.  It happens though (I'm not sure I painted that one though).  I've had a few nose gear failures in my time here (not to mention the three or four gear fails to completely extend incidents I've had.....) the beauty of virtual flying is that it is insanely easy to fix the plane.

Rob, you may want to check on the ERJ-145XR in the mx hangar at Toronto-Pearson.  I had to return to the field the other day due to the gear failing to retract after takeoff.

Update on the DC-10.  Denver mx has removed the #1 engine and started the tear down.  The theory right now is that there was a failure of the main bearing seal, leading to a total oil loss.  Sounds like the quick shutdown saved the engine from any further damage..........So this makes my third or fourth engine failure in 10 years with WW.......

    Re: Irregularity Report

Hey Kim Toronto maintenance advised me that the ERJ145 had a bad air ground sensing switch which failed. The aircraft is back in service.

And to think I had 4 go on me while i was flying P002, this doesnt count the 4 times i got shot down , so i guess you could make it a total of 8 on that charter, and i have only been here a few months shy of 2 yrs!!!  Darn Birds and RPG's!!!

    Re: Irregularity Report

Remind me to stay away when you're around.....you seem to have a bird and rpg magnet in your plane!!  I guess I've just been lucky.  I almost got shot down in Iraq on a cargo run once, I managed to limp to the runway (in a DC-3 no less....), with one engine gone and the other one on the verge of quitting, that was pretty exciting........
