    Current EDDF Flight Restrictions

    Good Day everyone,

Due to conflicts and weather conditions throughout the world, the following flight restrictions are put in place until further notice.

    1) All flights flying into the South Florida, USA area are temporarily suspended to due to the impending arrival of tropical storm/hurricane Fay into the region. All flights departing for Frankfurt are to be flown as scheduled until the arrival of the storm. All aircraft unable to fly scheduled routes are requested to fly to any mainland USA Westwind hub, preferably KCVG, KIAD, or KDFW. This is a one-time only restriction and will expire at 1200z on 20 August, 2008.

    2) Due to security concerns in the area over South Ossetia, all passenger flights to Tbilsi, Georgia are suspended until further notice. Cargo operations to the region out of Frankfurt will not be affected, but pilots are urged to monitor the situation.

    3) The previous flight restriction to Belarus/Belorussia is now lifted. All flights to Minsk are to resume their normal schedules within 48 hours.

    Re: Current EDDF Flight Restrictions

    Good Day everyone,

Just to let you know, I plan on making this a common feature in the forum. The biggest thing is that none of the flight restrictions are or will be politically based, just during periods of heavy civil unrest or when any airline would not send their planes in. Of course, weather is a big decision maker as well. If anyone tried to land during a hurricane, well, in addition to possibly exceeding any aircraft wind component, the passengers might complain about the ride in. Geeked

     Safe Flying everyone.

    Re: Current EDDF Flight Restrictions

I decided to continue Ians flight restriction tread for EDDF. So heres whats up with the world... I have decided to resume flights to the Democratic Republic of the Congo as the situation has gotten better. Aid flights will continue into the country and probably will for a long period of time. Now, before you say yes, no more restrictions, I would reccomend you don't fly to Bangkok unless you want to be met by anti-government rebels when you land!! They have taken over the terminal!!

We will also be cancelling all inbound flights to Mumbai indefinately.  And moving all aircraft and staff to Nairobi, Kenya until the terrorist attacks are squashed!!

Flying into Mumbai will be at your own risk, WWA is not liable for pilots flying into this "hot zone" on their own.
