The DASH-8 is a nice bird also.  If you have an extra $20, get the PMDG Beechcraft 1900C/1900D - there's WestWind paint for it on the downloads page.  It's an FS9 bird but it actually works with (very minor) tweaks in FSX.  www.precisionmanuals.com I think is the site.

We have paint for WestWind Executive and WestWind Cargo for the PMDG 1900.  Basically a Beech 1900 is a 19-seat (I think it's 19) regional airliner based on the King Air platform - it's essentially a bigger King Air.  Has a fully functional virtual cockpit as well.  To date I have not found an EMB-120 for FS9 or FSX with a virtual cockpit :(

Yes, Cat Two is a fun upgrade.  You can go so many directions at this stage.  Charter, Cargo, fly the line in airliners, corporate.  The main thing is that it is all so much fun.  Remember, that you can always fly the CRJ at any Catagory.

    Good luck!

I agree about the PMDG  B1900 as this only costs about twenty dollars,  If you click on the hour glass it will enlarge the panel.  You can drag and click this panel even more,  Great airplane.

    Re: CAT II training advice?!

There's a few threads on the minor mods needed to make the 1900 work properly in FSX, on these forums.  But once you've done those (minor things in notepad) it is well worth it.

As in the past, I challange all WestWind Captains to do the Six Month Checkrides.  These are found in our Training Department:

Pass this and I will "tip my hat" to you!

I am not due til January. I have taken these every 6 months since I joined and I had the "Deer in the headlights" the first time.  Now I am pleased as I can actually ace these rides.    .

These are superb check flights and thank you Ed..

I know that peoples opinions on this will vary, but I think that the 6 month checkride should be a nessecity or even make 1 a year a nessecity. It would add a bit of a challenge and I think it would be good to have a little bit of a change because its rare that anything happens when your flying normal routes.
