Why can't I find intersections around KSLC?

Why can't I find intersections around KSLC?

I fly strictly IFR and use STARs and SIDs without fail.  However, I have noticed that FSX doesn't know about most of the intersections around KSLC.  For example, on the PECOP1 departure SID, some of the intersections on that chart are MOZEL, AXFOG, BONNE, DEZRT, GRAAM, and PECOP.  When I go into flight planning in FSX to setup my route, I can't find any of those intersections!

     Anyone have an idea why?

    Thanks!

In flight planner, click on the icon that  says display the intersections. There is a bunch of stuff that you can display by clicking on the right icon.

    On a different note...Music

Eric...While you're in KSLC...look a couple of us up in the Hub lounge and we'll head over to Squatter's Pub for a pint (or two, or six) of Captain ***'s Oatmeal Stout...

    Cool

Thanks for the reply, Mike.  However, I do have all map items selected and still cannot find any of these items.

Hmmm. The only other thing I can think of, which you are probably already doing, is to make sure you are zooned in close enough to see them. I can't imagine why they would not show up, especailly if you can see them in the gps.

Re: Why can't I find intersections around KSLC?

I noticed that some of the Intersections that are included in SIDS and STARS are not in FS9 or FSX for some reason, only after i added FSNav for FS9 did I have all the intersections show up.

Re: Why can't I find intersections around KSLC?

This is probably due to when the nav data freeze for FSX happened.  All of the FS products are inherently behind in nav data (and often times airport layout) due to the fact that the databases must be frozen well before the final product is rolled out.  So by the time FSX hit the shelves, the real world had been through several update cycles already.......

Re: Why can't I find intersections around KSLC?

The new RNAV's for SLC just came out this year.  FSX was released in 2006.  If you are not using an external flight planning software such as FS Commander and have a subscription to an updating service like Navigraph you will not see these for flight planning because the flight planner in FSX only shows airway intersections, not GPS intersection (which are RNAV intersections).

Re: Why can't I find intersections around KSLC?

I had downloaded a demo copy of FS Flight Commander a few weeks ago but hadn't spent much time working with it.  Today I did and realized how powerful it was so I bought it.  I also signed up on Navigraph and downloaded the latest update.  The latest update has all the SID and STAR data so I'm set.  Thanks for all the helpful replies!
