WestWind Airlines

Colleagues,

Bentley Skibell of our Westwind KSFO hub has successfully completed the VATSIM pilot certification program, having passed level I-11 on August 17, 2008.

This voluntary VATSIM program allows pilots to progress through 11 proficiency check rides, beginning with simple VFR traffic patterns and proceeding through IFR procedures.  As I mentioned in a previous post, it's a great program and I would strongly recommend it to anyone who flies or who anticipates flying on VATSIM.

Bentley has received a Westwind Recognition Award in light of his achievement.  Congratulations Bentley!  Well done.

It really is a great program and I learned much from participating. I would encourage anyone thinking about the process to give the Vatsim KZLA site a look.

Congrats!

As soon as my P001 trip is over I am going to also try for my ZLA certs. After everything I have read about that program passing the I-11 is no small feat.

Thanks Matthew and to the WWA team again,

I would add that the KZLA tutorials before most of the exam levels are excellent and make good reading even if you don't fly online- the concepts are not terribly difficult. The process just requires commitment but is thorougly educational.
