    The Green Monster

Well i decided it was time for me to tackle this beast.I decided i was going to do it with the 767-400ER instead of the practical choice of the 747-400 ER.I like the 747 but not enought to sit in it for 20 plus hours.Im hopeing with a little luck i can do it in the 767 with only one fuel stop but we will see how that goes.I started it yesterday and was a happy 6 hours into flight when the FSX gremlins attacked, yes a freeze up ,no saves at this point so i had to start overCrying .this time im sure to save at many points in flight.I really wanted to do this non stop with no pauses but its just not gonna be .

Anyways,i have restarted the flight and im in it 2  hours.Everything is going good,im cruising at .82 mach.at FL 400.Left EHAM with 159844 lbs of fuel and have136600 lbs left.So thats like 23,244 lbs used in 2 hours so if i figured it right i should be able to get 11 or so hours of flight.Plan climbing a bit more after some fuel has lightened me up some so maybe i can get a few more miles out of her.at this moment i have 9171 nm left, ugh.I tried to use the company route,i generated it with simroutes and exported it to FSX but for some reson FSX wont load it up so i have to use the FSX route. It looks pretty close to WWA route.Well i have to go winterize the camper then ill be back to continue on,i m waiting for my boss to decide weather we are working tomarrow,if not i plan on plugging this monter to the end.Alot of coffee, cigs and munchies should get me threw it.Ill post back with some more fuel  info later on ,hopefully by then ill have a little more accurate usage and will know if i can do it with one stop

Anyone else has done this flight in the FSX 767-400 ER is it possible to do it with one stop?

All i can say is Wow.that is a long flight.glad its done.Did it with one stop in RJTY.I think the name was Yokata AB in Japan.Fueled up and plugged on,landed at 0924.I think everyone was as glad to get off as i was.Cool flight though,i would encourage anyone to do it at least once.I screwed up over Northern Russia and forgot to take a screen shot of the Aurora Borealis(excuse the spelling,im sure i spelled that wrong).Wanted to make a sig out of it but it probably would have been to dark to see anyways.Got to read a couple books on the way which was good.Nothing like a good Mack Bolan book or two to pass the time. Will relax here for a couple days before returning.

Sounds good Scott. I've been meaning to do the flight for a while now, it seems to be a milestone in all of Westwind's pilots careers. I've been putting it off and putting it off, but I think I might just do it this weekend!! Has anyone any reccomendations on aircraft for doing it non-stop?

If you are talking FS9, the B787 will do it no problem. You might check the awards section to see what other pilots have flown. I am not sure about FSX. The new B777-200LR will do it but it has not been released yet.

Don't know for sure but my opinion is that you are going to have to have an LR version.

    Re: The Green Monster

AFAIK it doesn't have the range to complete it without stopping. The 777-200LR and the 787 have the range. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the A340-500 (which is NOT part of our fleet) may have the range as well, as it used to fly from KEWR to WSSS non-stop in the tune of an 18 hour flight.

    Re: The Green Monster

There is a MelJet 777-200LR, I've made the trip in that airplane.  The A340-500 would have the range also, but as Ian said, it is not in our fleet.....

    Re: The Green Monster

Thanks for all the input guys. I think I might try it in the 787. Does anyone know of a 787 panel for FSX? I looked around a bit today but could'nt find much.

[Edit] Found  one guys. For anyone else who wants it, it can be found on www.simviation.com
